# 10 things every business website needs

The information and sections a business website must have so visitors call or come by, as a checklist.

A business website's job is to answer three questions quickly: **What do you do, where are you, and how do I reach you?** The ten points below answer those three questions in full. You can check your own site against this list.

## 1. A phone number you can call with one tap

Most visitors arrive on a phone. Your phone number should be visible at the top of the page and start a call when tapped. If the number is written inside an image, it can neither be called nor read by Google.

## 2. A WhatsApp link

Many customers prefer writing to calling. A WhatsApp button that opens with a ready message ("Hello, I'm writing via your website") makes it even easier.

## 3. A clear address and a map

Write your address as text and add a Google Maps link or a small map next to it. The address should be **exactly the same** on your site, your Google Business Profile and your social media. That consistency builds trust with both Google and AI assistants.

## 4. Opening hours

"Are they open right now?" is the most common question. Give your hours and holidays, and update them when they change. Wrong hours mean a customer turned away at the door.

## 5. A separate section or page for each main service

Five words under "Our services" are not enough. Describe each service in a few sentences: what it is, who it suits and how it works. Both Google and customers want to find the service they are looking for by name.

## 6. Prices or a price range

Publishing prices is not possible in every sector, but if you can, do. Instead of "call for a price", a sentence like "painting a two-bedroom flat starts from [price]" helps the visitor decide faster. Note: in some professions, such as law, advertising rules forbid publishing prices; check the rules for your profession.

## 7. Real photos

Real photos of your premises, your team and your work build far more trust than stock images. Well-lit, neatly cropped phone photos are enough.

## 8. A short "About us"

Say who you are, how long you have been doing this and where you are in a few paragraphs. Visitors want to work with people, not just a business.

## 9. Frequently asked questions

Write down the five questions you are asked most on the phone, with answers: "Do you offer pick-up?", "How many days does it take?", "Do you take cards?" These help customers and can be used as direct answers in Google and AI searches.

## 10. A privacy notice

If your site has a contact form or collects visitor information, you need a privacy notice under the data protection law that applies to you (for example GDPR in the EU, KVKK in Türkiye). Short and clear is enough.

## Check the technical side too

- The address bar should show a padlock (https).
- The site should open on a phone in 2-3 seconds. To measure it, see our [website speed article](/en/blog/website-speed-pagespeed).
- The site should be connected to Google Search Console so you see problems early. Details in our [Search Console guide](/en/blog/search-console-guide).

Everything on this list comes as standard on every site we build. [See the plans](/en/pricing) or [write to us](/en/contact).
